Our principle activity is the design and specification of building work, whether to alter, refit, extend, adapt or refurbish existing buildings or to create a new building.  We work on buildings ranging from churches and castles to domestic premises and for a wide range of private and public clients.

We can assist you with developing your ideas, look at options and help you to create a brief that ensures you achieve a building which meets your requirements within your budget.

Once the brief has been established we will draw up sketch schemes, and prepare and submit a Planning Application. Our knowledge of the planning system and good working relationship with the local planning authorities enables us to create a well informed design which has a higher chance of obtaining planning permission.  We can also prepare listed building consent applications and supporting documentation, based on our years of experience in dealing with such buildings.

Upon approval we can then prepare the detailed drawings necessary for Building Regulations approval.  This may involve considerable detail in terms of the energy performance of the building in particular, but will also cover fire precautions among many other issues.

Further drawings, schedules and specifications will then be required in some form to enable the builder to fully price the work and to carry out the project on site.  Again, we can prepare all the necessary drawings and documents for this purpose, to whatever degree of complexity is appropriate to the project.

Finally, if required, we can monitor the building works on site and provide cost control services through to completion of the project.
