Martin Hall and David Ensom have worked on all grades of listed and historic buildings throughout their careers, and such buildings are a permanent feature of the practice’s workload. To add to his extensive knowledge in this area, Martin undertook a two year study programme at The University of Bath where he gained a Graduate Diploma in The Conservation of Historic Buildings. We are members of various conservation organisations and are constantly updating our knowledge in this field.
This experience and understanding of the importance of preserving our built heritage means we are able to offer practical means of achieving an acceptable approach to the conservation of a building’s historic fabric while working to enhance its functionality. Combining this with thorough research and the establishment of good working relationships with local conservation officers, we are able to guide clients through what can often be perceived as restrictive legislation and improve the likelihood of applications being approved.
This experience is available for surveys, maintenance advice, arranging repair or refurbishment works or for larger scale alteration and extension projects.
